Brief for Project 2-Channel U

Does everyone have breakfast every morning? Is breakfast the most important diet to everyone? Why most people usually skip the breakfast but not lunch and dinner?

Breakfast is the first meal of one day. Most people are familiar with it due to they have breakfast properly. But some people are unfamiliar with it due to they skip breakfast everyday. For people who have breakfast everyday, do you want to know something interesting about breakfast that we familiar with? For people who skip breakfast everyday, maybe you will find hunger here. For people who skip breakfast sometimes for some reasons, would you like to know some suggestions of sollution from other people?

There are so many stories told about breakfast. It seems like a nonstop topic always appear in a health magazine due to its importance to our health. Also, there are several interesting aspects of breakfast for researching. For example, it varies greatly between different regions all over the world so that a typical breakfast in different countries concerns different cultural background...

The community I would like to create is a platform for users to experience, learn and interact with other people who also have interesting on breakfast.

Doll is a doll

Description of Project 1

It is a dream of Doll. All things occur are just imagination of a doll who names Doll. She desires freedom and to be a real human live by herself. However, she knows that it is impossible to change her identity to what she wants to be. So that at the end of her dream, she is still a doll and stays on human's hands.

Audio

Soundtrack plays an important role in the video. It is an essential point to present the experience and atmosphere of the story by using right music…
Personally, it is interesting and enjoyable to go through a long list of music while searching for what I want.

Story for Project 1

Here is my story for Project 1.
It is a narrative fairy tale talking about struggle of a doll...


Her name is Doll, and she is also just a doll for playing actually…

As a doll for a long time, she desires freedom and looking forward to live by herself.

It seems that it is impossible for her to master the fate by herself and even enjoy freedom for a while. The person who controls her fate and even every action is an eccentric temperament witch. Also, she is owner and master of a field of magic forest.

Fortunately, the world they live is filled with magic and Doll also has capacity of changing her appearance into a normal girl. So one day, Doll planed to flee from the claws of her owner when she goes to patrol her forest.

However, the witch immediately found Doll through the magic lake which the witch usually used as a mirror to monitor the action of everything in the forest. In a short time, she ordered a mask servant to pursue and capture Doll.

The witch applied her witchcraft cover everywhere even the walls to control Doll easily. To Doll, it is a suffering process when she tried to escape from their capture…

Unfortunately but not surprisingly, Doll finally was forced to return to a doll as what she used to be. Certainly, the witch won the “game”.

Sadlly, Doll probably will be a doll forever till… the witch dies. However, it is definitely impossible. Doll is just a doll produced by human for their playing.

Remix and remixability

Through reading the article which is talking about remix and remixability, I have understood the idea of these two words used in digital media design much deeper than before. Nowadays, we are not limited to use computer as a search and communication tool, but also expanded to massive numbers of fields such as blog entry, photo sharing, video production, music composition and uploding them onto web for sharing. It is all about exploring and taking advantage of the computer tools to make something we like. People are able to remix the materials given into a new thing by using design software easily.

Just looking at the old sources for information has been a past tense, the present tense is that most things in digital such as photos, music CDs, videos and so on can be broke into separate blocks that can be accessed individually.

All of those amazing things told in this article present internet culture which keeps continuously increasing. In short, Remixing promotes the interaction between computer and human in one aspect.

Personally, I quite like the appropriate examples showed in the article relate to the information and receiver such as at the beginning the writer compares information with water, and then compares the information as train and the receiver as train station. Both of the examples are compared vividly and easily for readers to understand the relation ship between information and us.

Project 1-Remediate Stray Cinema

At beginning of starting working on my project 1, I was confusing that what the term “remediate” means. After reading and message given from class and watching the edited video displayed in “Stray cinema”, I realized that the meaning of remediate is a term about using the material given to remix and make something new. It will be a production of my own remediated design.

After watching the 5 footages, I tried to organise them and then recreate it to be a story...

The data wars

The world is getting more connection due to a better internet. More and more web tools are supported on the internet world so that the communication among users getting more and more convenient.

Web companies such as Yahoo, Google, Facebook, Myspace and Flikr provide a platform or a space for users to connect with their friends and upload their own blog and other interesting things.

Also,users are able to search anything and tag they are interested in on the web.
It is all about information sharing.

Information should be free. If it isn’t agreed by most big guys, the data wars among web companies are certainly hard to be avoided.
